Thurs 5/27, 7:00 am: 2 grams Bute. She's doing very well - up & alert. She laid down overnight :). No hay left, which is a good thing. FIller her hay manger & the hay bag; she was excited & nickered when I brought the hay & started to eat immediately. Filled 2 of 3 water buckets - all 3 were between 1/2 & 2/3 gone (also good). Temperment was great. She was able to turn from facing out of stall watching me walk into barn to the hay manger at the back of her stall with a small amount of difficulty (much easier than in previous days). 6:15 pm: 2 grams Bute. She was laying down when I got here. Sam [another boarder] said she was laying down when she got here @ 3:30. Dawn [another boarder] was also here earlier than Sam for a farrier appt, and she was laying down when she got here. She'll eat while laying down, then she'll stop & lay back all the way, then back up to eat a little more. I laid on her belly & on her neck (like a pillow)...so cute! The bandages on her feet look good so far.
Fri 5/28, 7:00 am: Rick gave 2 grams bute. 8:00 pm: She was kind of pissy - she's feeling better & getting bored. I cut the jolly ball off of the apple thing for her to push around the floor if she wanted. Didn't lay down while I was here. Rear leg swelling is pretty much gone. She's very focused on me. Didn't eat much hay, drank some. I just think she's starting to feel better & is bored. She just yawned :). Twice :). Seems to be moving around her stall pretty well. I think she itches under her bandages - she's biting at them a little. I went out to empty the wheelbarrow & left the gate across her door down and she walked out of her stall! She backed up okay. Didn't feel any unusual heat in her legs. Midnight: [Rebecca] She was laying down until I came in to check on Vivi & close pasture door. She's happy to see me! Front water still full. She'd like to walk around the barn & carry on a normal conversation with me :).
